ElevenLabs has introduced Voice Design, a new AI tool that generates a unique voice from a text prompt alone. E.g. “Create a voice that sounds like a disgruntled potato that has been baked too long.”
I usually don’t think humanoid robots are the best solution, but this one is impressive: Clone’s new android, Torso, uses artificial muscles and has 25 degrees of freedom (DoF) in its hands. This means each hand can move in 25 independent ways, allowing for complex, human-like motion.
Meanwhile Chinese startup EngineAI has unveiled SE01, the first humanoid robot that doesn’t walk like it just pooped its pants. Its push-ups, squats, and overall agility are both impressive and a bit unsettling.
